ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – “CONG Tarzan Lazatin: A Public Life” – the aptly named biography of late Pampanga First District Representative and three-term City Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin was officially launched on December 12, 2021 at the Best Western Hotel in Balibago.
Present during the event as Guest of Honor is former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, a good friend of the late Lazatin. Arroyo also wrote the foreword of Tarzan Lazatin’s biography.
“This book about the public life of Cong Tarzan may help influence, motivate, and provide encouragement to everyone, especially aspiring leaders,” Arroyo wrote.
In a special message delivered during the book launch, Tarzan Lazatin’s son, incumbent City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., expressed his gratitude to the former president.
“Ibayong pasalamat po ang binibigay ko kay Presidente Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo sa kanyang oras at pagkilala sa aking ama,” Pogi Lazatin said.
The idea to publish the biography is the brainchild of Pogi Lazatin and Tarzan

BIOGRAPHY OF COUN. CARMELO “POGI” G. LAZATIN, JR.
Known for his nickname “Pogi,” Coun. Carmelo Gurion Lazatin, Jr. was born on August 28, 1969 in Angeles City. Pogi is the son of former Pampanga First District Representative and the first and only three-term Mayor of Angeles City Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.
Pogi graduated from Republic Central Colleges with a degree of Bachelor of Science Major in Business Administration. He furthered his studies by taking up Master in Business Administration and Master in Public Administration, which he finished in 2011 and 2018, respectively, at the Republic Central Colleges.
Before entering politics, Pogi had already exhibited his exemplary leadership skills in the private sector as President of Biotop Philippines Agriculture Co., Inc. (2008 to present), Director of Casablanca Casino, Hotel Stotsenberg (2007 to 2017), President of Lago Waterworks, Inc. (1990 to present), and Treasurer of Amalgamated Builders Construction, Inc. (1990 to present).
