A doctor of political science. Graduate of international relations at the University of Łódź and a scholarship holder of the Surrey University in Great Britain and the university in Joensuu, Finland. He was awarded a PhD in social policy at the University of Warsaw upon defence of his doctoral dissertation “Evolution of Swedish and British models of social policy in 1993–2003”.
In 2002, he started working at the Office of the Committee for European Integration where he dealt with the benefits and costs of Poland’s membership in the EU in the Department of Analyses and Strategies. In 2014–2016, he served as Permanent Representative of Poland to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and later as Vice-President of Globsec, a think-tank based in Bratislava.

Jakub "Kuba" Błaszczykowski (Polish pronunciation:[ˈjakupˈkubabwaʂt͡ʂɨˈkɔfskʲi]ⓘ; born 14 December 1985) is a Polish businessman and former professional footballer who played as a winger. He is a part owner of Polish football club Wisła Kraków,[3] where he began his professional career and established himself at a young age. In 2007, he joined Borussia Dortmund, where he spent the majority of his career, making over 250 appearances and winning two Bundesliga titles, two DFL-Supercups, and one DFB-Pokal.
Błaszczykowski was twice named Polish Footballer of the Year in 2008 and 2010.[4] With 109 appearances, he is the second-most capped player of the Poland national team, and captained them as they co-hosted UEFA Euro 2012, while also appearing at UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
