Disclaimer: I know we're not serious with this, but It did pique my interest, so... My Google-Fu indicates two popular ranges depending on the procedure: 800-1200 F and 2200 F. That would indeed wreck a temper! I think I've seen that movie, or at least a similar one, and the size of the wound cauterized is not realistic. They did used to cauterize amputations with a glowing hot iron, call it 1500 degrees, BUT, and this is very important, they used tourniquets to prevent blood flow until after the cautery had been done. Longmire (TV series)
US modern Western crime drama television series
Longmire is an American neo-Westerncrime drama television series that premiered on June 3, 2012, on the A&E network, developed by John Coveny and Hunt Baldwin.[1] The series is based on the Walt Longmire Mysteries series of novels by Craig Johnson.[2] It centers on Walt Longmire, a sheriff in Wyoming. He is assisted by staff, friends, and his daughter in investigating major crimes within his jurisdiction.
Longmire became the "highest-rated original drama series" on A&E;[3] however, the network announced in August 2014 that it would not renew the series after the third season.[4] Warner Horizon Television offered it to other networks[5] and Netflix picked it up, starting with season four.[6] Netflix released the sixth and final season on November 17, 2017.[7][8][9] All episodes are available for streaming via Netflix in the United States.[10][11]
