Jitendra Singh Rana is an Indian physician and politician who is serving as the 18th minister of Science and Technology and minister of Earth Sciences since 2024. For Prime Minister's Office; Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space.[2] He was elected to 18th Lok Sabha from Udhampur with the majority of 124,373 votes.[3]

He is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member and was the chief spokesperson for the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.[4][5] He won the Udhampur seat in the Indian general election, 2014 and 2019 with highest ever margin of votes [6] for the 16th Lok Sabha and 17th Lok Sabha.[7]

Early life

Singh was born in Jammu, in the erstwhile Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, into a HinduDogra Rajput family as the elder child[8] to parents Rajinder Singh and Shanti Devi.[9][10] His family belongs to the Marmat area in the Doda district.[11]

MUNGER: Adding a new twist to the controversy surrounding former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar in the fake degree case, Vishwanath Singh Institute of Legal Studies principal RK Mishra claimed here on Thursday that Tomar had passed the three-year LLB examination from the institute.
Tomar is likely to be brought to Munger by Delhi Policetrying to gather evidence on the veracity of his documents.

"Former Delhi law minister Tomar has passed the three-year LLB examination from Vishwanath Singh Institute of legal Studies, Munger," the institute principal said emphatically.
Mishra said the college has preserved a copy of the tabulation register sheet (TRS) sent to the college by the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU). Incidentally, the original sheet is reportedly missing from the TMBU examination department.

Jitender Singh Tomar is an Indian politician and former cabinet minister of Home, law and justice in the Government of NCT of Delhi headed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from which he was resigned after a Fake Degree case against him. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and represents Tri Nagar in the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi.

In 2020, day before he was about to file his nomination from TriNagar for 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections, High Court gave a ruling against him where he was found guilty of Fake Degree[1] in his 2015 nomination. As a result his election was canceled and he instead made his wife contest on behalf of him.
