Leah Crocetto

The renowned American soprano returned last season to Washington National Opera (Desdemona/Otello) followed by performances at Palm Beach Opera (Liù/Turandot) and the Philadelphia Orchestra (Verdi Requiem). With Seattle Opera, she portrayed Leonora/Il trovatore and then debuted with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in Verdi’s Requiem, which she has also sung with the major orchestras of Chicago, Los Angeles, Calgary, Columbus, and Albany. Crocetto’s eminence in Verdi has been confirmed by successes in Il trovatore (Bordeaux, Verona, Frankfurt), Otello (Frankfurt, Venice, also on the Teatro La Fenice’s tour of Japan), Luisa Miller (San Francisco, Tel Aviv), Aida (San Francisco, Seattle), and Falstaff (Frankfurt). She has also starred in bel canto repertoire, such as Maometto II (Santa Fe Opera), L’assedio di Calais (Glimmerglass Festival, U.S. premiere), Semiramide (Opéra National de Bordeaux) and Norma (North Carolina Opera). The 2022/23 season for Ms. Crocetto began with her San Diego Symphony debut in Giuseppe Verdi’s breathtaking Requiem under the baton of Rafael Payare. She also returned to the Metropolitan Opera and Opera Australia as Aida, receiving critical acclaim from the Sydney Morning Herald raving, “Leah Crocetto as Aida has a voice of enveloping power and warmth” and Theatre Travels saying, “She is beautiful and effervescent in this role. Her rendition of “O, Patria mia” was soul-stirringly good.”

She made her debut as the fiendish role of Odabella in Attila at Teatro Petruzelli. In recital, she appeared at the Butler School of Music in Austin, Texas, where she is currently on faculty as a Lecturer in Vocal Arts.
